POSITION: Music Teacher (Instrumental)
LOCATION: Lander Valley High School/Lander Middle School
SALARY: $52,200 starting base salary (2025-26 salary schedule); full benefits; extra-duty stipend includes: LMS $1,566, LVHS $8,3524, plus 10 days extended contract for band camp @ daily rate of pay ($2,822 minimum).
CONTRACT: 185-day
START DATE: August 2025

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, a certificate issued by the Wyoming Teaching Standards Board with an endorsement as a K-12 music teacher. Experience teaching high school band and directing marching band is required. Other desired qualifications include: Ability to achieve excellence; history of leading high-quality, high performing marching and concert bands; ability to work well with secondary students; ability to work well with parents and the Band Booster organization; willingness to invest the energy in collaborating with other District music teachers to build a strong K-12 music program; creative; highly organized; energetic; sense of humor; enthusiastic; and good communication skills.
JOB DESCRIPTION: This position will teach band at Lander Valley High School (550 students, 9-12) and at Lander Middle School (450 students, 6-8). They will also prepare for and lead the LVHS Marching Band in the WHSAA Sanctioned Competition as well as direct the LVHS Pep Band during most basketball and football games. The candidate will also be required to prepare for and have students perform in assorted festivals and concerts at both the middle and high school level. The LVHS band has been a high-performing band, and it is supported strongly by the community and the parent-led Band Booster organization.
